So you want to be famous….

Let me introduce you to Jason.    Imagine riding in a car with a ten year old boy.   Let’s say you are his mom (or dad) and on the radio is this guitar playing country singer that sounds great and Jason says–”That is what I want to do.”  Can you get me some guitar lessons?    I’m thinking –first of all, you are 10!   And, you have already tried baseball, basketball and bowling.    Not to mention I have spent a small fortune on Yugioh Cards!!!   Really?

Fast forward, fourteen years, Jason who is now 24 is not really famous, but he does make a very nice living playing country music.   He has a band that plays nationally and he has a minibus–not quite a tour bus–but he really has accomplished a lot since that day in the car when he was 10.

How do you think he did that?  Well,  I would say it all comes down to mindset.  He definitely had his mind set on learning to play the guitar.   And by the way, he really can play the guitar!   That didn’t happen overnight!  It was quite frustrating for him for about a year!  In fact he would practice for hours in the beginning sometimes causing his fingers to bleed from his extra long practice sessions!   About a year and a half after starting lessons, Jason could play songs!   He kept taking lessons and learning from anyone who would teach him or play guitar with him!  He was very determined.

Later, he decided he wanted to learn to sing!   This happened just as his voice began to crack and change!  So again, the poor kid had to overcome a host of doubters and naysayers, but today that boy sings and plays guitar and he is making a living doing it.   There is a lot more to this story, and we will come back to it!   The point is hard work and determination can help you accomplish your goals.

What is your goal?  Think about it!
